Shopping Questions

When is the next Half-Pint Resale event?

Our Fall & Winter 2026 sale is Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11, 2026. Saturday and Sunday are open to the public with free admission. We hold sales twice a year, every spring and fall, and our Spring 2027 dates will be announced on this site and our mailing list.

Where is Half-Pint Resale held?

At the Arena at the Alliant Energy Center, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI 53713, a central location about five minutes from downtown Madison, easy to reach from anywhere in Dane County. Parking is free.

Is admission free? Do I need tickets?

Saturday and Sunday are always free and ticketless – just show up. No advance registration, no reserved entry times, no admission fee. Friday is a presale day limited to our consignors and volunteers – sign up to shop early!

What time does the sale open?

Saturday, October 10: 8am-6:30pm. Sunday, October 11 (half-price day): 8am-1pm. Come early for the best selection or later for a calmer browse.

How does half-price Sunday work?

On Sunday, everything in the sale is half price all day, no coupon needed. The only exception is a handful of items priced over $75 and printed on a green tag; there are usually fewer than ten such items in the entire sale.

What can I buy at Half-Pint?

Tens of thousands of gently used items for kids ages 0-12 and expecting parents: seasonal clothing in all sizes, shoes, toys, books, games, baby gear, strollers, high chairs, bikes and ride-ons, sports equipment, nursery furniture, and maternity wear. Every item is inspected and parent-approved, at 70-90% off retail prices.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and checks.

Can I bring my kids? Can I bring a stroller?

Yes! Kids are welcome. Please limit your strollers to umbrella strollers during mornings as space gets tight during those times.

How do I shop before the public?

Volunteer! Our 300+ volunteers earn passes to Friday’s presale starting at noon. Consignors also receive presale shopping passes, starting at 4pm. Sign up on our Volunteer or Consign page.

Consignor Questions

How much do consignors earn at Half-Pint?

Consignors keep 70% of everything they sell – the highest consignor return of any sale in the Madison area – with a registration fee of $11 per sale. You set your own prices, and checks are mailed within 10 days after the sale. Most consignors earn $200 – $500 per sale, and many earn over $1,000.

How do I become a consignor?

Register online at https://halfpintresale.com/home-2/consign/ in about 5-10 minutes, tag and price your items using our free tagging tools, drop everything off at the Alliant Energy Center on the Thursday before the sale, and get paid within 10 days. First-timers are welcome – our step-by-step tutorials walk you through everything.

What items can I sell?

Children’s clothing (sizes newborn through 12), shoes, toys, books, baby gear, furniture, outdoor equipment, and maternity items that are clean, working, and in good condition. See our What to Sell page for the full accepted-items list and any restrictions such as recalled items.

What happens to items that don't sell?

Your choice: pick them up Sunday evening after the sale, or donate them to our local donation partner, Stoughton Clothing Center, where they go directly to Dane County families in need.

About Half-Pint

How is Half-Pint different from other consignment sales?

Half-Pint is the Madison area’s oldest and largest children’s consignment sale, running since 2008. We’re 100% local and mom-owned – not a national franchise – so every dollar stays in our community. Consignors earn a higher percentage here (70%) than at other area sales, admission is always free with no tickets required, and parking at the Alliant Energy Center is free.

Is Half-Pint Resale affiliated with a national franchise?

No. Half-Pint is an independent, locally owned Madison business and has been since our first sale in 2008.
