Fall Half-Pint Resale is here!
We are so excited to share with you the improvements and changes we have been working on to make the sale even bigger and better than ever. Below you will find information about the sale and details on the improvements you will find along the way as you prepare to consign and shop. We are certainly kicking things into gear and hope that you will join us in September as a consignor/shopper.

NEW LOCATION
Loyal blog followers, you’ve already read the good news about our move to the Atwood neighborhood community center on Madison’s near eastside- formally named the Goodman Center. The sale will be held in the 6,000+ square foot gymnasium (the square building on the right of the center in the picture below), which will give us double the sale space as previous sales and also open up opportunities for a better layout and flow of shoppers. The Goodman Center is very easy to find, as it is situated just off Atwood Avenue on the near east side.

DRIVE-UP SERVICE
To make things even more fabulous for consignors and shoppers we will have DRIVE-UP Service available for the item drop-off and for the two-day sale. The Loot Valet service will allow shoppers to leave their purchased items with a volunteer attendant to later drive-up and load their great finds into the car with ease. No more fretting over a distant parking spot and the idea of carrying everything you want to buy – so Shop Away! Consignors, we’ll have similar service for consignor drop-off as well.
NEW CHECK OUT SYSTEM
We have been hard at work, fine-tuning our check-out system so buyers have a better experience purchasing their items. We know we don’t have a fancy system, but if you have shopped at past sales, you will notice a few new tricks during the check-out process this time around. Our goal is to make check-out easier for consignors and for volunteers, and reducing any opportunity for error.
FRUGAL SHOPPERS ON THE FLY
And for those of you out there who are able to stick to your shopping list and walk away with a small armful of treasure, or for the shopper who is limited to a work-day break-time, we can now offer you an EXPRESS LANE to make your shopping experience more doable. We heard from a few shoppers who had to leave empty-handed because of a lengthy check-out line, and well, we just can’t have that. Equal shopping access for all!
And a couple of things that haven’t changed –SAME GREAT QUALITY
We had so much positive feedback from shoppers at the sale on the HIGH QUALITY of the goods being sold and the incredibly affordable prices. As veteran thrift shoppers, we know how important this aspect is to the success of the sale. We take great pride in making sure that the items being put on the sale floor are in gently used condition. We appreciate how lengthy the check-in process for consignors can be because of this and thank you in advance for you patience and understanding while we evaluate items being consigned. The AFFORDABLE prices, well we certainly can’t take any credit for that. We have been so impressed with the fair and affordable prices consignors pass onto shoppers and believe this is cornerstone to Half-Pint’s continued success. Half-Pint Resale is only as good as its consignors and we have LOTS to brag about in this area!
HALF-PRICE on SATURDAY AFTERNOON
While we know that Half-Pint Resale varies from other consignment sales, we continue to remain convinced that the half-price portion of the sale on Saturday needs to include all items*(the only exclusion to this rule is any item with a green-colored tag that has an original price of + $75). After a number of sales under our belt, we have learned that the items that consignors tend to sell the majority of what they had left prior to the half-price portion and therefore take home more money and fewer leftover items. Plus- shoppers LOVE the fact that they don’t have to be cautious when shopping the half-price sale, as they know almost every item they find will be reduced by 50% at check-out.
So now that you are all pumped up for the new sale, we are announcing:
CONSIGNOR REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
REGISTER EARLY TO CONSIGN
Register by August 15 and you will be entered in a drawing to win one of our GREEN GOODIES (as in eco-green, not color). We have been filling up our free time acquiring re-claimed items of all kinds and turning them into Half-Pint paraphernalia. There is a growing array of one-of-a-kind items that you could be the proud owner of, if you just register to consign by August 15th.
And………we are gonna make this super easy for you. We now have a super fantastic ON-LINE REGISTRATION FORMS (new consignor registration form here, and returning consignor registration form here) that can get you registered lickety split – OOOH……AAAH!
SPECIAL NOTE: Returning consignors, you will notice on the website that we have instituted a $5 consignment fee for this sale. It a small amount for each of you but a HUGE help for us. Our move to the Goodman Center meant that our space costs went from a few hundred $ to a few thousand. It was a hard jump for us to swallow but one that we really couldn’t afford not to. Your fee will help off-set a portion of the cost and therefore allow us to continue committing time to this valuable community event. Thanks for sticking with us, you won’t be sorry. There isn’t any reason to wait! Register now, and start purging and tagging!
